Offer the candidate answers

When a direct, answer-only response is wanted, give the model the possible answers to choose from instead of leaving the answer space open.

Closing the answer space, by turning an open question into a choice among stated candidates, makes it easier for a model to answer without visible working. It is a prompt-side lever on cutting to the chase, and it only applies where the candidates can be enumerated without giving away the answer or narrowing it wrongly.

Requires: A task whose plausible answers can be listed in advance.

Addresses: Cutting to the chase

Contexts: Chat assistant, General

Efficacy claims — what this technique actually moves, under which conditions, and whether that has been contested.

No efficacy claim filed yet. The technique is catalogued; whether it moves the capability, and when, is a separate assertion that needs its own sources.

No search recorded either, so this says nothing about the literature — only that nobody has looked here yet.

Either way, bring evidence: a link, or what you saw.

Whether a technique works is a claim. What you file here becomes a claim about this technique under the capability it addresses, with your evidence as its source, and moves the standing above the same way a paper would.
